Time is really fast.

I start to think of what i have gone thru this year.

2006 is a exciting year for me.

Army.

Army is the time where i am most fit, the peak of my physical fitness. From training as a trainee to training my trainees, i really found joy in setting a good example to them and impart whatever i have learnt, my experiences to them, and hope to see them become a good soldier, doing their part in the security of the nation. And have to thank those who have taken care of me during my service to the nation. They let me see how things work in the army, how to relate to one another in this serious and complex organisation call the SAF. I will remember those lessons i have learnt: relating to authorities, integrity, RSAF 9 core values, teamwork, precision, honesty, responsibility, initiative, flexibility, planning, contingencies and communications.

Coming back to the studying mode isn't easier for me, especially after 2 years of camo cream on the face, eating of combat ration, and wearing the helmet. Really thanks to my seniors who helped me along the way, with their past year notes and Lab Reports! Those are really valuable stuffs! So i decided to archive my version of notes and tutorials neatly so that i can help my juniors in the future. And i really enjoyed the time with my new friends in school. Eating together at the pink tables and i will always entertain them with really COLD jokes. ( Laughing aids digestion ) Rushing for lessons and squeezing onto the forever crowded shuttle bus. Studies wise was not easy for me. In the beginning of the semester, i was really lagging behind, lectures after lectures, drifting further and further away, not able to do the tutorials. I was really afraid that i will do badly in my first semester. Especially my statistics module and organic chemistry module. I even scored 24/100 for the organic chem mid term test and 17/40 for my stats quiz. My heart sank deep, as i knew i was way below the average. i really want to do well. And during the reading week, i decided to pick myself up again and asked God to come in and help me understand the modules before the final exam comes. For 3 weeks, from the start of the reading week to my last paper, i went to school everyday to study with my brothers and sisters, really want to be there for one another during this intense period of studying. Praising God and worshipping Him whenever i feel stretched and saturated, starting to daze, and i was recharged everytime i prayed to God to calm my heart and give me the peace and assurance i needed at that time. And recently the results for this semester was out. Although i didn't do really exceptionally well, but this is really God's grace for the final results. My organic chemistry turned out to be one of my best module, got a B+. I wouldn't say i regreted. Because i have made used of the time i have to do things with my best effort, not just studying very hard, but also take time to serve God's kingdom, encouraging, sharpening one another.

As i reviewed my 2006, i really thank God for being in my life. Things might not happen to be the best-ideal scenario, but I am sure it is better, now that i have God in my life to go thru the ups and downs in my walk. Life is not about getting lots of metal cups (some call them trophies) that can collect rain water in the rainy december or laminated a4 construction papers stacked in our drawers (and some call them certificates). We have limited time on Earth, and somethings are not within our control. So i believe what we want is to do something that will last, in our lifetime, and even eternal. Leaving deep impression in people's life, helping one another out of periods of dryness. Making sense of what is happening around us and to us is important, cos that is a process that is the determining step, whether a lesson learnt anot.

Looking at the new year resolutions i have drafted out for 2006, i score 3/5.
One of the 2 that i have not accomplish yet will not appear on my list for 2007, cos i know when the time comes, it will be from God, the someone that God has planned for me. No rush, cos lots of other important things to do.

Actually i encourage you to start drafting out your resolutions for 2007, write it on the first page of your organiser. And remember to keep in view of them throughout the year. Think of things/areas that you want to see yourself accomplish.

Let's make this coming year 2007 a fruitful one!

To all Christians, brothers and sisters, Merry Christmas! To us, Christmas is not all about sales! shopping, lightings... its the day God sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to come to planet Earth, just to restore a meaningful relationship once again between God and men.

To all my friends, enjoy the lightings and sales, and also take this chance to ponder on the meaning behind Christmas.

Spend your Christmas with your loved ones. May Love, Peace and Joy follow you, always.
