Erm...i just watched the movie Da Vinci Code on 18 May 2110 @ GV Tampines Mall. 150mins.
I had started reading the novel as soon as i knew the movie version is coming up. My Christian friends told me to be careful and read it with an open heart.
Treat it as a novel,
a FICTION novel.
Before i read the novel, i prayed to God that he will guide me thru this journey filled with conspiracies which are against the Christian faith. I am thankful for my church to organise a seminar on :
How should Christians respond to the movie Da Vinci Code.
While seating in the cinema waiting for the movie to start, i warned my friends that they can enjoy the plot but all the things said in the movie is FICTION,
nevertheless, a FICTION.
Intro
The central theme is that Mary Magdalene and Christ produced a child whose descendants are still alive today. Apparently Mary Magdalene was pregnant at the time of the crucifixion. For the safety of the unborn child, she had no choice but to flee. With the help of Christ's uncle, Joseph of Arimathea, she secretly travelled to France. There, she found refuge in the Jewish community and gave birth to Sarah. A secret society called the 'Priory of Sion' guarded this secret.
Although a work of fiction, it is a creative story telling which includes controversy and conspiracy. It also makes specific claims against the Bible, Christ and the church.
Christians who are not well-versed with the Scripture may be taken in by the msg of the movie. Some might develop doubts regarding the authenticity of the Christian faith. However, it sparks the interest to looking into the Word once again and understand how did the Bible come abt as the Bible that Christians hold dearly.
As for pre-believers reading this blog entry, i believe that after watching the movie, you will be curious to find out more. I am sure the Christians friends ard you will be glad to share with you what we Christians put our faith in.
I was very 愤怒 when I saw the disclaimer page in the novel.
It claims that
“ All descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents and secret rituals in this novel are accurate ”
Once Again I would like to state that this novel is FICTION!
Accurate? I doubt.
Allow me to bring you thru as I break every single blasphemy this "mR. hashBrown" person wrote.
I want to present this verse to you "hashBrown" !
'I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.' Rev 22: 18-19
Let's start with the less religious stuffs.
Louvre's Pyramid (www.louvre.fr)
No sign of Devil
In the novel, mR. hashBrown claims that there are 666 glass panes making up the entrance to Louvre. Think he is trying to link it to the Satanic no. 666. Folks, Louvre's staff did the counting, there are only 473 in all.
Soap Opera
The soap-hurling incident in the Louvre toilet is quite a feat, because Louvre toilets have no windows to hurl things thru.
Security Alert There are no iron security gates that slam to the ground in the Louvre. mR. hashBrown claims it at the start of the murder of the curator.
Killer Painting
In the movie you can see Louvre curator Jacques Sauniere wreats a painting off the wall to set the Louvre alarm. In real life, the painting 3.7m by 2.5m , he would have been flattened by it.

We chat til 4am, then bathed and slept for 4hrs.
After we woked up, we went to PartyWorld KTV and sang from 12-4pm.
Though not enough sleep, we were still very hyper. Nic and Seth sang 'one-night-in-beijing''..funny...recorded. Calyn and Crystal sang S.H.E songs.
After attending service, we made our way to Costa Sand @ Pasir Ris.
After a game session on Saturday afternoon at the beach, the brothers went to the pool for a swim.
We had a farewell celebration on Sunday night and we affirmed those who had moved on for their efforts in the tertiary ministry.
Brothers and Sisters , let ask break all barriers so that we will open our hearts, not afraid to share openly, so that we can be a blessing to those who are in need of it.
" We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother. "
